In Year 5 we strive for an inclusive environment and a positive learning culture to enable all the children to fulfil their potential at school. We encourage the children to develop their resilience and challenge themselves as they continue their school journey into upper key stage 2, becoming more senior members of our school family. We show love, hope and courage in everything we do, reflecting our school values when we work and play.
The Year 5 teachers are Mrs. Norris (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs. Tranter (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), supported by 2 teaching assistants: Mrs. Forrester and Mrs. Curtis.
PE:
PE is on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons; please come to school in your PE kit on these days.
Homework:
Please support your child to complete their homework by reminding them to do the following each week:
Homework assignments will be set on a Thursday each week, with a spelling test the following Friday during the school day (therefore children have one week to prepare and learn the spelling list). As the children are becoming increasingly independent readers they are not always required to read to an adult at home, and should be filling in their reading diaries themselves. Please note that reading diaries should be kept in school bags in order for them to be available both at home and school each day.
