Here at Shrivenham CE Primary School, we want our pupils to get the best experience from their sports and PE lessons.

Each academic year, we appoint a sports council who will help make decisions alongside the teachers and PE coordinator to maintain a positive attitude towards school sport. The children are extremely motivated and enjoy taking part in regular council meetings where different topics are discussed, including ways to better engage the school community in all things SPORT/PE! The Y5&6 sports council members are trained playground leaders and enjoy organising fun and challenging activities for the whole school to take part in.

Alongside Miss Acheson-Gray, our sports council members will be involved in:
 

• Helping to organise house competitions;
• Inviting sports personalities to come and talk to the school;
• Helping to encourage a love of sport and PE within the school community;
• Being a representative for the rest of the school during meetings;
• Organising the sports equipment and PE shed;
• Attending training to gain sports leader skills;
• Organising and helping to run Sports Day.
• Taking part in fundraising challenges.
