At Shrivenham C of E Primary School we believe every child and adult has the right to feel safe and happy and that we all share the responsibility of making sure this happens.
Our Friendship Ambassadors are a group of pupils from upper Key Stage 2 who help to promote this message. They have participated in Anti-bullying ambassador training with Equaliteach. The Friendship Ambassadors are supported by Mrs. Bailey, our designated Anti-Bullying lead. They work together to develop, review and update our action plan. We promote positive play, through leading fun playground games and teaching others in our class to run the games too.
Every year we run an anti-bullying campaign for a week in November. This year we focussed on the role of the bystander.
Throughout the year, we raise awareness of bullying, survey the school to find how much is going on, discuss with pupils and staff how it affects people and the importance of tackling it. We do this by running a weekly assembly and talking to classes. This year we have written a child friendly Anti-Bullying policy, which we have shared with children, staff and governors. We also encourage children to tell someone if they are being bullied and are running a poster campaign to promote this.
