Hello everyone and welcome back to term 6!
After all your hard work for SATs, this term is all about continuing that hard work, whilst having lots of fun!
The diary is extremely full, as so many things are happening. We shall certainly be very busy.
Our main theme for this term is about Multicultural Britain. We will be looking at how Britain has become such a wonderful diverse society and how important this is.
Last term we had brilliant visit to Birmingham for 'Young Voices' where we sang with over 8,000 school children from around the country. We were all extremely proud of you.
This term we will be swimming, we are going away for our residential and we have our wonderful performance 'Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies'.
We will continue to have PE on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon so, as you can see, we will be extremely busy, whilst having lots of fun.
On Wednesday 19th January, Sycamore class had our World War II day. Everyone dressed up (thanks to the parents for such an amazing effort) and we came to school, ready to be evacuated! After making our identity labels and having had our ID cards checked, we headed off to the hall ready to go.
However, the transport was delayed, so we came back to class, to make gas masks and do some baking, 1940's style. Later in the day we were able to try our delicious cake and everyone agreed it was a success.
The children took part in air raid drills and watched Pathe news to find out how the war began.
It was a great day and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Please find all the information you need to see what Year 6 will be doing this Summer!
Here are all the spellings that you will be learning this term. We will be practising in class and there will be activities for you to complete on EdShed each week.
