Games

1. Double It Towers

What you need:
Lego/cubes

How to play:

  • Build a tower (e.g. 6 cubes)
  • Build the same again
  • Count total together: "Double 6 is 12"

➡️ Extend by hiding one of the towers and asking what the double is.

2. Double Snap

What you need:
Number cards (1-20)

How to play:

  • Turn over one card
  • First to say the double wins it
  • Must says full sentence: "Double 8 is 16"

3. Double Dash

How to play:

  • Call a number
  • Child runs/jumps that number twice
  • Count total aloud

Games

1. Sharing Picnic

What you need:
Small objects (grapes, crackers, counters)

How to play:

  • "We have 23 grapes and 4 people"
  • Share one at a time into 4 groups
  • What's left?

🗣 Key language:

“23 divided by 4 is 5 each, remainder 3"

2. Remainder Builders

What you need:
Cubes

How to play:

  • Give a number (e.g. 17 ÷ 5)
  • Build groups of 5
  • Leftover cubes = remainder
  • "Could we make another full group?" (why not?)
